Born from the desire to provide cleaner, easier water access for adopted chickens at a local school farm, the BriteTap waterer was created by a passionate chicken owner who saw the need for a better solution. Unlike traditional waterers that expose the water to the elements, the BriteTap waterer's innovative design utilizes the power of insulated coolers to keep the water cool, clean and readily available for your flock.
The BriteTap waterer addresses the common frustrations of traditional waterers:
Clean, Cool Water All Summer Long -- Unlike other waterers, the BriteTap waterer utilizes the insulated power of Igloo, Rubbermaid, Coleman and other brand coolers (sold separately) to keep the water refreshingly cool even in the hottest weather.
Effortless Installation -- No special tools or skills needed! The BriteTap waterer easily replaces the spigot on your 2-gallon, 5-gallon, 10-gallon or larger cooler, transforming it into a clean and convenient water source for your flock.
Say Goodbye to Messy Water Pans -- Traditional waterers often can be soiled by chicken poop, leading to contaminated water. The BriteTap waterer's closed system and automatic. shut-off valves ensure clean water stays clean.
Flock Friendly Construction -- Unlike galvanized metal waterers, The BriteTap waterer is made from durable plastic material that won't leach harmful metals (zinc) into your chicken's water.
Suitable For All Ages & Breeds -- Whether you have adult chickens, chicks over 2 weeks old, ducks, quail, or guinea fowl, the BriteTap waterer provides up to 16 birds with fresh, clean water they can access easily.
Water Tanks for the BriteTap® Waterer
Your BriteTap waterer is designed to attach to a container that acts as a water supply tank. This gives you the flexibility to choose a water tank that meets your size and budget.
Your BriteTap waterer kit includes a gasket and nut that allows you to attach the BriteTap quickly and easily to your water supply tank. Use a container you have on hand, or buy the BriteTap Combo pack that includes a 2-gallon insulated cooler.
Water Coolers:
The BriteTap waterer can be attached to Rubbermaid®, Igloo® and other brands of water coolers.* Suitable coolers have:
- Spigots that can be removed and are attached to the cooler with a removable nut.
- A spigot hole with a diameter of that is not smaller than 7/8 inches (20mm) and not larger than 1.1 inches (28mm)
Unfortunately, the BriteTap waterer can not be attached to Coleman® brand water coolers that use a spigot that is described as “dishwasher safe.” (See image of suitable spigots)
Attaching To Other Water Containers:
The BriteTap waterer can also be attached to a variety of water storage containers including: plastic pitchers, food-grade plastic pails, water containers designed for camping, and slimline refrigerator water dispensers.
To make these storage containers into a water tank for your BriteTap waterer, you will need to use an electric drill to make a hole in the side of the container.
